QUOTE (Diamondflame @ Apr 12 2010, 06:55 PM) Heya guys, I posted on here a bit but then I kind of forgot :) I had my interview for GB at AC on the 6th/7th, it went OK but I guess you never know! I put down AC first, then Adriatic, then Mahindra, then Nordic, but basically all of the colleges were on there somewhere. Now it's just a waiting game until the first week of May I guess... Gah. <_< I'm from northern ireland and i also had an interview at the start of april.. do you think that all uk applicants will get their results in may? it feels like ages away.. ><

Joyce, which day was your interview? As far as I know, they send out the accept/reject letters at the same time, put some people on the waiting list and if people reject they send out those letters a few weeks later. But that's just from rumour... What do you think your chances are like?

After reading 27 pages of responses I should probably say something!! Hi! I'm Maddie, from USA. I'm applying this coming fall to UWC. It's been my dream since middle school! Here's my list 1. Red Cross Nordic 2. Atlantic College 3. Adriatic 4. Costa Rica 5. Mahindra 6. Li Po Chun 7.Pearson 8. USA 9. Waterford 10. Maastrict 11. Southeast Asia I don't think I would gain nearly as much going to the one in the United States, considering it is so close, and more people similar to me would be there. I also don't like the schools with more age groups than the traditional UWC (ex. Waterford, Maastrict, Southeast Asia) Any advice for a future applicant?

Good luck! Just be yourself, and if this is really your dream and your passion just be honest about it and they will see through you.. Are you in any volunteerwork at the moment?

Yes, I volunteer every week currently by a local food bank bagging the groceries to be distributed. I also volunteer monthly at an organization called the "Warm Place", a grief-support group for children, and I volunteer frequently at camps and events put up by my church. I'll also be at an American Indian reservation this summer on a mission trip.

Sorry about the previous post, didn't know how it worked. Anyways, I am a dual national (USA and India). I'll be applying through the American NC. I live in India, so I was wondering if there was any way to bypass the interview if I get selected, or have a telephone interview.

Have you considered just applying through the national committee in India? I think that if you make the shortlist in basically any country, they expect to meet with you face to face. Also, in a lot of places, a group interview is a major component in deciding who gets a scholarship. So, if you apply trhough the American NC, you'll probably either have to find a way over to the US, or drop out of the running for a spot. Really, the only time that I've heard of somebody doing a phone interview was when one of the girls in my interview session couldn't make it because she was stranded in Europe due to the ash cloud! Hope that helps!

Hope that helps! I was hoping there WAS a way to bypass it, nevertheless I will attend the interview IF selected. Also, what is a good SAT score? I got an 1820, and I don't feel comfortable with it.
